Marlene Rae Kirk, age 84, of Mena, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She was born on Thursday, May 19, 1938 to Elmer and Catherine Gardner in Madison, Wisconsin. \n\nMarlene moved to Mena, Arkansas in 1976 and worked at Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge as a housekeeper for nearly 20 years. It was the perfect job for her because Marlene loved people; she never met a stranger. She would often tell stories of short sheeting people and turning their electricity off and laugh about it. Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.\n\nMarlene is preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Debra Lettman, Stacy Kirk and Christina Kirk and a son in law, Roland Lettman. \n\nMarlene is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kirk of Texarkana; her son Duane Kirk of Florida; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.\n\nCremation services are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.\n\nIn lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place\nMemphis, Tennessee 38105.
