James Weldon (Don) Seals, 90, went to be with his Lord, September 11, 2017, at his home in Broken Bow, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born at El Dorado, AR, on January 2, 1927, the only child of Robert Blanton Seals and Annie Burke Seals. He grew up in McCurtain County. His parents were teachers and he became a teacher also. After serving time in the U.S. Navy, he enrolled in college, graduated and began his teaching career. In 1951, Don met and married Wanda Story, and they had many wonderful years together. They spent 65 plus years doing the things they enjoyed most. They loved to camp, hunt, ride the four-wheelers, make quilts, play dominoes, work puzzles, sit on the back porch and feed the birds and squirrels. Don loved to make lots of things in his workshop. He loved working with leather, making beautiful purses, billfolds, belts and etc. He drew house blueprints for many people. Don and Wanda were members of the Lukfata Baptist Church since 1963. They always read the entire Bible each year. They had two children, a son, Ricky Don was killed in an automobile accident in 1995 in Alaska. Their daughter, Patricia Lynn passed away in 2007 with cancer. Don leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wanda; a grandson, Neil, who is always in touch and always ready to help if needed; also, a daughter, Nancy, two granddaughters, Angie and Jennifer, and a great-grandson, Jordon. He also had an adopted granddaughter, Ashley. Don had many friends and relatives. He loved them all. Wilda Hendrix, Sue Kincaid and Shirley Leonard were special cousins. Troy and Ola Faye Hunt, Earl Wright and Sandra, Muley and Jane Propps, Carl and Maxine McGee and many more were special friends. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Clint Bray officiating.
